  • During the Victorian era, St John’s Wood was the location of choice for gentlemen to hide their mistresses; near the centre of town but a good distance away from their homes in Knightsbridge and Mayfair thus avoiding suspicion.
  • Stay away from Abbey Road if you need to be somewhere quickly. Traffic is always held up at the zebra crossing on Grove End Road, as Beatles fans look to recreate the Fab Four’s iconic album cover of 1969.
  • St John’s Wood was once part of the Great Middlesex Forest.
